I think that it is a wonderful idea to have all of the Xmas web sites in one place, however most of your visitors seem to be concentrating on the ornaments when there is so much more to see. Help, For 1998, I am been tasked to locate xmas tree lights from the 1950s. Typically these where available in strings of 12 or 24 bulb units. What is different, is the fact that the bulb envelopes where either blown into fancy shapes (santa claus, bunches of grapes, snowmen etc). These are neede for uk use (240v ac 50/60/cycle). I always enjoy reading and discovery new information what everyone is doing on your website. As author of the Christmas book, Christmas Year Round: A Guide to America's Christmas Shops (Warren, Mich.: Harmonie Park Press, 1991), I have had a chance to visit many cities in search of unusual Christmas shops. I also recommend that Christmas enthusiasts take advantage of taking part in Christmas reenactments of times past when they occur. I remember that about 3 years there was a very delightfuly reenactment at the Woodlawn Manor House in Norbeck Maryland, close to Sandy Springs, Maryland (for those of you who know the area). Everyone who attended took part in a recreation of a Christmas party that took place at about 1860 or slightly thereafter in America. Included were dances of the time, displays of holiday food typical of the time, games, and a presentation of a shadow play, an entertainment that was popular in the parlors at that time. The setting was lit only by candlelight and there were beautiful greens displayed everywhere. Anyway, thanks for the opportunity to chat.
